First Few Days of Work

It has been 3 days since i started working in Huawei Technologies. These few days we just prepared for training so just go through some documents. But luckily can get approval for next week 5 days leave which i wanted eagerly as i have a trip to HK aka graduation trip. If cant get it approved then it will b a waste then. So far has been busy first few days. Do not even have time to write long story here..

100th Post

When i wanted to post this message only i realised that i've reached another milestone..total of 100 post..i never thought that i could make it here.. Besides that, when im writing this, im actually shifted everything back to my Shah Alam home and said goodbye to Melaka.. It has been a wonderful 5 years and it seems that time passed by so fast as though it was just yesterday.

On Saturday evening, my dad rented a lorry to help me bring back those big stuffs like fridge, tables and etc. Then today(monday), my parents came down to melaka to help me shift the balance. I cant imagine that i have so many things to shift after the lorry trip and this time also filled the car full of items.

So tmr gonna be a busy day unpacking and arranging everything...

Im sure many noe that McD in conjunction with the introduction of Mega Mac has come out with a chant called Big Mac chant where every purchase of a Value Meal, customer will get a coupon to stand a chance to win a Big Mac. The chant is as follow:

Next monday i'll be going back to Shah Alam and this week gonna be a slightly busy week, need to clean up the house and pack all my stuffs to be brought back to Shah Alam. Shifting house has never been nice as i experienced b4 when I shifted from Subang to Shah Alam and from previous apartment to my current house. It's troublesome as there are lots of things u need to throw, clean and pack nicely. Cleaning is a big problem as those spider webs and dust are covering everything that have not been used for long long time its time to sweep it off. So it is time to clean now....

Thomas and Uber Cup update

The Malaysian Uber cup team's journey has come to an end this evening as they lost to Korea 3-1. Only Wong Mew Choo able to win in the tie and now Malaysia hope is all on the Thomas Cup team which will be facing China on Friday afternoon at 1PM. It will be a tough encounter for Malaysia team but with high confidence, they should be able to do the upset. I guess it will be a tight encounter where the result should be at 3-2 and will depends on the last single to decide the match.

Besides today's Malaysia action, China's Uber cup team almost got shocked by Netherlands where China lost 2 of their 3 singles match but able to gain ground on through their doubles and advanced with 3-2 score line.

In Thomas Cup, Korea who opted to face some easy route before reaching the Final almost hit the nail as they won by 3-2 over Denmark where they lost their first singles and first doubles but able to win the last 3 encounters to advance to Semi against Indonesia who have an easy game over England.

A Quick n Short KL Trip

Today together with my gf and few friends (Driver:Kimfei and Aleng), we went to KL for a quick day trip to run some errands. Both me and kimfei need to go to Huawei to get our offer letters and also sign the pre-employment contract. We left Melaka at 8am as we need to go to Sg Wang to get some stuffs for a friend. When we were at Sg Besi toll plaza, something strange happened where we tried to 'check-out' using the touch'n'go but no response from the system but then lorry behind was honking so we just left as the bar is open. We went through SMART tunnel and realised that the system didnt deduct the toll fare and we earned RM16.50.. So we reached early to Sg Wang and waited for about 1/2 hr for the shop to open and this is the first time that im so early in a shopping complex. Then after that we go to KLCC where Huawei's office is actually located at ETIAQ Twins Building which is just besides KLCC. We waited awhile and got our offer letter signed and went over to KLCC Medical Center to perform a pre-employment body check. Spent some time there and had lunch and waited for both aleng and another fren, zhong then we left for Melaka. There goes my day!!!

Barclays Premier League will have its last game of this season played on this coming Sunday, 11th May 2008. Til now, title yet to decide whether Man Utd or Chelsea will win it but Man Utd have the edge as they lead by large goal margin and they are playing against Wigan away but Wigan has already secured next season's top flight football so won't be a tough match. Chelsea on the other hand will be hosting Bolton at Stamford Bridge where they yet to lose a match for more than 80 matches at home. If both win their matches then Man Utd will be crowned champion. Because of this tight affair, the Premier League chiefs are minting two sets of winners’ medals and will use two trophies for Sunday’s final fixtures. The paper claim the real one will be at the JJB Stadium for United’s trip to Wigan, while a replica will be taken to Stamford Bridge for Chelsea’s clash with Bolton.

After the season's last game, 10 days later, both team will meet again at Moscow for Champions League Final and both will be desperate to win it. To me of course i want Man Utd to win it. So hopefully unlike last season where Man Utd got the league while Chelsea got the FA Cup. So make it a double this time!!!

Another Finalist

After Man Utd secured a place in the Champions League final, their opponent for the match on 21st May is Chelsea who won the match 3-2 and aggregate of 4-3 over liverpool. It has been a tremendous match as end of 90 minutes its tied at 1-1 but in the extra time, Chelsea attacked frequently and got their goals through Lampard and Drogba. Liverpool tried to come back but able to find a goal through Babel long range shot. In the end, it has been a wonderful night for Grant and his players. This season will have a wonderful ending on whether Man Utd or Chelsea will able to do a double cup success or one a piece. Goals for the Chelsea Liverpool match can be seen from here. Enjoy.

One More Month

One more month to go and i am going to finish my degree course but wait....wait...wait... this is where important things start to kick in.. Though just one month but then there are lots of things need to settle.. here is the list:
1) Assignment
2) FYP Presentation
3) Final Examination

So basically, the above 3 is the main priority in this month and heck, that will determine whether i able to grad safely..so to those who having the same agenda as me, good luck and i hope i can safely go through it and pass with flying colours

I took only one RAW then use photoshop save in +-2 EV tiff file format..then use photomatix pro to generate the HDR..with some tone mapping and PP after that.. enjoy..comments are most welcome

Today is the submission of FYP report so once i've submitted the report to office, its time to take a short break from the busy schedule to do something i wanted to tried for some time which is to process a HDR photo. Im still noob in doing this so this is the first try and i did it indoor shooting the kitchen where there are sun light coming in from the kitchen window.

It has been a week since i last update my blog..wow..what a long time.. The past week has been a busy one where i have a midterm on wednesday evening, career and entrepreneurship fair, fyp reports and job interview... here is the list of how things went...

7/4/08: Meet my supervisor to discuss about my fyp report and we discussed for about 3 hours, what a record but at least i know what he wants in my report. During the night, we have the final preparation for the career fair which starts on 8/4 until 10/4.

8/4/08: Went over to the career fair early in the morning to meet up with the companies representatives to confirm with them about the interview rooms that they need as im the logistic director and in-charge of those interview rooms. Spent few hours there until the whole opening ceremony ended then i went back home to study for my midterm.

9/4/08: Spent the whole day at home studying for the evening midterm test.

10/4/08: My first full day appearance at the career fair. At least not that tension anymore as both subjects midterm already done and now fully focus on the fyp report and assignments.

11/4/08: Did small part of the report and rest due to the hectic schedule for the past few days. Prepare for Saturday's interview.

12/4/08: Went to KL with 2 friends for Huawei Technologies walk-in interview at the Renaissance Hotel. A new experience for me as this is the first time attending an international company interview. They have 3 levels of interviews in total and i think its really lucky get to reach the final interview so now just need to wait for 2 weeks for them to make their decision.

So this was what happened during the past 6 days...what a day and now im still rushing my report..

During the one week break i went to MPH in Subang Parade with my gf to look for some books for my FYP. There was a small event going on for those young children (i think its around 7-12yrs) and we overheard that our country's only astronaut or angkasawan will be meeting them so we walked over there and saw Dr. Sheikh in person. He was invited to give a short talk about his experience and also to motivate those children. Then after that, he had a meet the fans session where we got a book written by his late-brother for him named Reaching For The Stars. The copy that we got is personally signed by him at the cover and inside has his compliments to us. Too bad i didnt bring along my camera, else i could have taken some shots on the spot.

2nd MUMOS Film Festival - MUMOS Night

I've been so busy lately to finish up my FYP, lab reports, midterm and assignments.. So this is a quick update of the MUMOS Night which has ended on 30th March 2008. During the night, there are Malay Dance performance, Break Dance, WuShu, Live Band, Live Acoustic Guitar performance and so on... Special guest of the night, Karen Kong had a wonderful performance to heat up the night. Some performance are worth watching such as the Live Band together with the Saxophone, the Guitar performance. Others are basically what we have seen in other events so not much of a surprise.

MUMOS Night

Last year, I was the director for the 1st MUMOS Night and together with around 50 committees, we successfully organised the event. This year, it's the 2nd MUMOS Night to be organised under Multimedia University Movie Society (MUMOS) and it will be held on the 30th March which is 2 days later. This time they invited Karen Kong as their special guest and there are lots of performance that will thrill and entertain each of the audience. So I would like to take this opportunity to help them to advertise the event and hope that those that are free and yet to get tickets for the show, please do get it before it is too late... Sepang F1 Malaysian GP - Race Day

23rd March 2008, the race day of this year's F1 in Sepang, Malaysia. The race starts at 3pm but in order to get a parking slot and not stuck in the traffic, we decided to leave around 12noon to the circuit but somehow we still got stuck in the heavy traffic towards the circuit. This year seems to be more spectators and from the official spectators count, this year has the highest attendance compared to the last 9 years. We reached there around 2pm and because my uncles need to have a look at those official merchandise, we walked to the welcoming area and they were able to get some caps and t-shirts. I was looking for Kimi's cap which is also the one that Kimi wears during the race weekends but failed to find as only Massa's cap is left available sale. After getting all the needs, we went to our seats and immediately i went to the lowest row so that i could get a better view for photoshooting. Throughout the race, i was hoping for accidents to happen during the first corner and also for the rain to come but both didnt happen and was quite a 'boring' race. In the end, Kimi won the race followed by Kubica then Kovalainen. There were only few race incidents but all happened at other parts of the circuit rather than the corner that i was sitting.

F1 Malaysian GP - Qualifying

Here are some quick updates from me on Saturday's qualifying.. Went to the circuit with my dad and we reached there just nice that the session just started. When we were on the way there, the weather seems to be getting more and more cloudy thus we thought that it might rain halfway through the session but somehow it manages to wait for 1 hour before rain starts to fall. Ferraris were able to get the front row while Mclarens booked the 2nd row and tmr will be a tight fight down til the end of the race..if rain falls before start of the race, we might have a nice race where i guess less than half of the grid finishes. This week as predicted has been a busy week for me..besides that, there are also some problems with my internet connection thus not much updates here.. Today is Friday and im glad that things completed as planned where i was able to finish up my FYP practical part and now move forward to complete the whole report which need to be handed up in less than a month's time... Besides that, next week there is a test awaiting me on Wednesday night and til now yet to fully prepare for it. This weekend gonna visit Sepang for the F1 race and will only be back to Melaka on Sunday evening and straight away gonna go for the Chinese Dance Competition in Pay Fong Secondary School.. So hopefully i'll able to update with some pics from those events.. c ya..

1 Week Mid Term Break

This week is my last mid term break as this is the last trimester that i'll be in this University. Usually breaks are the time where we can get to take a short while off our busy study schedule and visit our parents and friends at hometown. As for now, during this short 7 days, it will be a very very busy week for me. Today just came back from a 3 days holiday at Genting with my girl girl and also few friends. Then tomorrow onwards, i need to work hard to find some details i need to complete my FYP, then on Thursday, I need to meet my supervisor in KL to do some practical for my FYP. Then this weekend, its the Formula 1 Malaysian GP and most probably i'll be there to witness the 10 year anniversary of organising F1 in Sepang. So kinda busy week but i guess its an enjoyable one..

2 weeks back, the internet connection at my place was so poor that all the downloads were running at a total speed of just 20kbps and the browsing speed was as slow as a turtle crawling for a distance of 1meter. Then i decided to make a complain and it has been quite sometime since the last time i did one. This time was on a Friday so i expect them to fix it on Monday since i called quite late but on Saturday morning around 9am, a technician called me and ask me to check whether any improvement on my speed, i was like, wow, they do act immediately to my complain then the problem solved but few days later the same thing happens again. Due to busy schedule so yday only i did another complain, and this time it took them few hours to settle my problem and today they called few times to check with me about the speed and stability. Personally, i found that their service is quite good or mayb im lucky?? Though they implemented those fair usage policy but at least their technical assistant is quick enough to help me solved my problems without asking me to check this and that anymore, so thumbs up for their service at the moment...haha

Honda F1 Road Show

Honda Malaysia organised their Honda F1 Road Show prior to the Malaysian GP around Malaysia. So they were in Sunway Pyramid last week to showcase last year's race car, RA107, together with the race engine, merchandise and also some competition and also Honda models to attract people over. I was back hometown for the weekend for the general election so then together with my family, we went to Pyramid just to walk around and as i noe there is such roadshow so i brought my camera also to take some photos. The whole roadshow was located at the new wing of Pyramid and many people was there to witness the F1 car and also see those participant for their F1 simulation race compete against each other. Unfortunately i was late there so unable to register for the contest, so i stayed for their Q&A session and won myself a Honda Racing Keychain that worth RM14 by answering a simple question.

This is something that i guess most of u wants to know. TM Net have a new look to their website and a new policy applied to Streamyx users and this will solve all those slow BT questions of yours.

TM is committed to ensuring our customers receive the best broadband service at the most competitive price. To achieve this goal, we provide a contended broadband service. This means our Internet bandwidth (capacity) is catered to be shared by all our customers at any one point in time, to ensure we provide a satisfactory and acceptable performance on an equal basis to all our customers.
However, a small number of customers use more than their "fair share" of the Internet bandwidth provided by us. On average, about 10% of our customers are using a disproportionate amount of Internet bandwidth. These customers degrade the performance of our broadband service by taking bandwidth away from other customers, who use the service fairly.
For example, some customers use P2P or file sharing software, which constantly sends and receives videos and other types of very large files, throughout the day. These activities (download and upload continuously) use a lot of bandwidth and can significantly reduce the connection speed, which other customers are getting to access the Internet during peak hours. We don’t believe this is fair to the vast majority of our customers.
We wish to bring to your attention our traffic prioritization policy with regards to P2P and Fair Usage Policy. We would like to reiterate that the P2P throughput is subject to peers (seed) availability and their throughput as well. Kindly note that TM does not have any control over peers’ availability or throughput.
The Fair Usage Policy automatically identifies the extremely heavy users and manages their bandwidth in order to protect the service of all our other customers. This traffic prioritization policy will protect the quality of service for the majority of our customers when they use the service, while at the same time, still allowing the extremely heavy users to continue to send and receive files with certain restrictions. With this policy in place, we will prioritize Internet activities like web browsing, live streaming, messaging applications and VOIP access while traffic to P2P sites will be given lower priority, due to the high bandwidth consumption of such services.
We wish to also highlight that as an Internet Service Provider (ISP), TM only provides access to the Internet and does not guarantee content delivery and performance where it is not within the domain of TM as an ISP. In fact, our international traffic management policy is designed to cater for all our customers so they have an optimal surfing experience within the normal limits of Internet usage.
As our priority is for all our customers to have a positive Internet experience, we wish to emphasize that it is important for all our customers to practice responsible usage of the allocated bandwidth based on normal usage.
We would like to reiterate that we are not against the use of P2P but we would like to educate our customers that the usage of excessive P2P does impact the overall service availability to our other customers.
TM does provide every customer with an allocated bandwidth, where other customers may use when not used by the others. Unfortunately, the nature of P2P more often than not, takes more than their allocated bandwidth, thus causing undue setbacks for other users when they want to use the service.
As a responsible service provider, we believe it is our responsibility and commitment to educate and encourage responsible usage of the infrastructure we provide.

Today's date is 3rd March 2008, and this morning only i realised it is 3rd of March when i need to adjust the date of my watch... y is it big deal???? coz its only 2 months more and im near final examination...oh...
In this 2 months, i need to settle my final year project together with the super thick report, finish up 2 assignments, midterm test and of course prepare for final examination..wow that's lots of stuffs to get done in just 2 months time.. Then to make my mind more stressful is today's tutorial where the tutor which is also the coordinator of the subject told us that we need to work very hard to pass that subject, i was like WTF, the other subject is tough and this seems to be even worst and he even said that we need to read the text book and get other information online in order to answer the questions during finals and besides that, perviously we are used to aim on chapters and drop those difficult ones but this time i dun think so we can do it as he claimed that each questions might come from several chapters..wow.. so i guess from now on neeeeeeed to fullllllly utilise the 2 months else its the end ..haha

CNYE Recreational Night

Even though for students of MMU, our CNY holidays have been short lived, but every year the Chinese Language Society will organise a CNY celebration event in conjunction with CNY in campus so that students get to experience the whole CNY environment. This year the celebration is done after our short break and lasted until 22 Feb. During the whole event, there was a Exhibition Corridor, Mini Carnival and last but not least the Recreational Night.

The Recreational Night was on the 22 Feb 08 in Main Hall and together with my gf and few friends, we bought tickets to the show. Thanks to aleng, we all get to sit in front and have our seats booked so that we do not need to worry about having seatings problems. So together i bought my camera to try some luck and also to improve my skills on photo shooting. So below are the photos i took the whole night.

Today after lunch i accompanied my gf for a hair cut near the place we stay. Before that, it was a saloon but im not sure of the name then 2 trimester ago changed to a new saloon and we yet to try as many times i went there they are not open yet so this time my gf is able to try it. The shop name is called Zero Degree, quite 'in' rite the name...
When we enter the saloon, its nothing different than those saloon in melaka just something like classic cut. So we have a thought that the price gonna be around RM15-RM20 for a female hair cut but since we are alredi there, so giv a try.
So after she had her hair cut, then when we gonna pay that time, the hair dresser told us that it cost only RM8, wow that's really cheap. My gf was kinda surprised with the price, so did i. So i think next time which is few weeks time, im gonna try have my hair cut there.

RAM

RAM or also called Random Access Memory is a type of computer data storage . It is very common to all computer users as they need it in their CPU in order to run it and in today's market, most computers have at least 1GB of RAM installed in order to have applications run smoothly.

Lately was having trouble with my RAM (I guess), therefore, have some taken out so took sometime and shot it using my cam. Here i wanna show the difference between single sided and double sided RAM. Actually there isn't any difference just that some motherboard might not able to support double sided while some they cant mix it around so that depends on the model of the motherboard.

The RAMs i have here is a Kingston 512MB PC3200 DDR and Apacer 256MB PC3200. Then you can clearly see that the top one has memory module while the bottom one does not so this is to show the difference between single sided and double sided. Double sided have memory modules on both sides of the RAM.

Few more months and I'll be graduating and soon i'll b stepping into the working world. So it is almost time for me to look into the options i have. I guess this is not just me, but my fellow frens who is currently in the final year. Every year, our university will invite some companies to our uni to provide some talks to students to provide them some idea about what they might be looking for and what they should look for after graduation. Currently, there are companies having walk-in interview session in our uni and those who are interested can just drop by with their resume and try their luck. Besides that, this coming April, Student Affairs and Sports Division of MMU will also organise a Career Fair and invite several companies to conduct their walk-in interview here in our university, so my fellow frens, if you plan to get a headstart over others, this is the time for you to do so, get urself ready and talk the opportunity with it comes.

What A Weekend

Even though CNY break has ended but im still stucked at CNY mood, where i promise myself to start doing my stuffs when back from hometown but still spending time playing here and there esp spending time every nite playing cards. So this is the weekend before Chap Goh Mei and guess what, we "worked" our hands and brains from nite until early in the morning, even more hardworking that i was doing my ITP.
During those hours, we can really play hard until all new kinds of card games were created. Oh my gosh, this gonna kill... HELP!!!!

Every year, for CNY, i'll spend few days in Melaka as my grandma is here and other uncles and my family will be here also. So I was able to take few days to go back with them this time and visited some relatives in KL. Every year the celebration is the same, where we had reunion dinner on the 30th nite (Lunar Calendar) then on the first day and second day of CNY, we will visit the temple and also relatives in Melaka.

This time when i went back to my home in Shah Alam, the Buddist Temple near my house hang with lots of lantern for this celebration, so I took this opportunity during the nite to shoot some photographs when all the lanterns are lit up.

UNITEN gets RM 4.8Mil

Uniten gets RM4.8m for research projects
KUALA LUMPUR: Universiti Tenaga Nasional (Uniten) has been awarded a RM4.8mil grant by the Higher Education Ministry to undertake research projects on energy and water.
Its public affairs department director Datin Noor Zarina Musa said in the area of renewable energy, Uniten was awarded RM3.8mil to do research on energy from landfills in Malaysia. – Bernama

Uniten gets such a big fund from the government to do research on energy and water, y our university didnt come up with some special research that can benefits the country and get funds from gov for it?? I guess our uni is also capable of doing some research which is special and benefits not jsut local people but also others around the world

Bribery

as i was reading through local news online, i came across with this news:

Caught red-handed trying to bribe
KOTA KINABALU: Graft busters caught a woman red-handed as she tried to bribe an enforcement officer during a raid against a major pirated DVD supplier in the city.
Sabah Anti-Corruption Agency personnel, who conducted a joint operation with Domestic Trade and Consumers Affairs enforcement team from Putrajaya, caught the woman as she allegedly offered RM8,000 to an officer to call off the raid.

Four other workers in three premises under the same operator were also arrested during a raid at an undisclosed shopping complex here at around 5.30pm on Friday. Sabah ACA director Latifa Md Yatim Abdullah said that the team also seized about 20,000 DVDs valued around RM215,530 as well as numerous suspected imitation game stations and other computer related items during the raid.

The woman is expected to face charges under Section 11B of the Anti-Corruption Act, as well as other charges under the Copyright Act and Trade Descriptions Act.

If found guilty of trying to bribe a government officer, a person is liable to a maximum of 14 years imprisonment and a fine of five times the amount offered as bribe.

When they successfully caught someone trying to bribe them, they published like its something so special, but im sure many still taking bribes out there. The worst thing i could say is the badge those officers have on their chest, "Saya Tidak Menerima Rasuah", its such as shame in my opinion.

Chinese New Year

CNY is just around the corner, about a week til the first day of CNY or 初一. CNY marks the beginning of a new chinese calendar or also known as lunar calendar. During this celebration, chinese likes to celebrate it with fireworks, mandarin oranges, 'bak gua', and many more. The most important thing that for those who havent married is to get Ang Pao.. Besides that, there is one thing that many would do during this festive season which is gamble. Usually many will get together to play some card games even before the first day of CNY. Here are some games that usually played:
- Blackjack: this is the most common game being played as it is easy as long as the player know how to calculate.
- Chor Dai Di: This game only allow maximum of 4 players to play and this game requires skills and good memory. The biggest card is 2 of Spade which is Dai Di.
- Poker: Not many play this but some who is daring prefer this game.
- Pak Kah Lok: This is a game where the turnover is high and fast. 2 cards at first and then if ur points is less than a certain number set before the game, you can take one more card. 9 points is the highest.
- Ngau: 5 cards and from there 3 cards must form total of 10s then balance will be your point.

There might be many more but this are some of the common ones. So good luck to those gamblers and Happy Chinese New Year to all Chinese and Happy Holiday to non-Chinese.

This few months Express Bus accidents in Malaysia has increased tremendously. In order to reduce more and mroe accidents, JPJ has taken actions against those drivers that have bad records on the road and also those companies which have problems such as poor handling on driver matters. Eventhough we saw that they caught how many drivers and so on but how come accidents still increasing? Today's paper, there is another accident and this time the driver had 13 summons against him and how come he is still driving a bus and risking the life of all the passengers?

After returning the lens to my uncle, i used the Canon's EF 90-300mm USM lens to try out. So the first thing i able to try is to shoot the image of the moon. I found out from forum that the best setup is ISO200, 1/100sec, F10. So i tried and the following image is what i get and i PP it abit on the brightness and contrast and also the clarity. So what u think? I'm quite happy with it but i could say that the lens tends to soft focus abit.

Quick Facts bout My ITP

Since few days to the end of my ITP, i'm doing a quick facts here regarding what i've done this 3 months. The company i'm being placed in is a company that provides mobile value added services and also provide bulk sms services. This company has gained MSC Status company in Malaysia as they are involved in IT products, have office in Cyberjaya, receive intern(like me) for internship at their office and using computers to do all their work. The place where i need to report everyday which is their main office is located in Desa Sri Hartamas and by taking NKVE, it takes me 30 minutes to reach and paying RM8 for toll inclusive of return.

1st Month:
- when i entered, given first task was to have a run through on their web sms interface and provide a report on my feedback and also improvements for that site.
- after done with that, the next assignment would be using JSP to develop a page for internal usage which took me 2 weeks to do from scratch.
- all of us were given a task which due on 31/12/07 which is to find customer contacts and input to the system. We need to get 5000 contacts by then.

2nd Month:
- doing touch up here and there for the project i done previously
- as previous, getting more and more contacts
- helped to do a mock up system for a customer which took me a week using PHP

3rd Month:
- since just a month more, no new task assigned, so basically main focus is to get those contacts to reach 5000 target.
- helped out on system check to ensure that msg to 019 is ok as im using 019..haha

so basically that's wut i did and im sure most of u have wonderful stuffs to learn n work during ur ITP. Stay tuned for more photo updates in next few post.

Fireworks

To mark the year 2008, every country will have their own celebrations and during the celebration there will be fireworks everywhere. So on the new year's eve, on the way back from my grandma place we passed by Sunway and saw fireworks being blast out and many cars stopped at the road just to view it.

We also stopped there and i came out from the car and immediately setup the tripod and my camera to get some shots. Since this is the first time using this camera to take fireworks shot so im not sure of the settings and wasted the first shot due to overexpose. Then 2nd shot was ok and so does the third one. But its still not good as it is not well prepared and to get a good fireworks shot, we need a good tripod, a remote shutter release and also a black cardboard.

The fireworks lasted few minutes only and to my regret i cant celebrate with my darling as she is in melaka preparing for her exams. I wish that we can celebrate together next time and also all other special occasions.

Before new year, i got myself a birthday present which is something which both me and my darling wanted for quite sometime, which is a DSLR. After much consideration and advice from others, i got a Canon EOS 400D.

I bought it a Fotekem Pyramid on saturday which is a day b4 my bday as a gift to myself. It cost RM2700 with the kit lens, tripod, DSLR case, 2GB Ultra II CF card, Kenko UV Filter, Kenko Polarize Filter and extended warranty total of 3 years. I went there with my sister and we spent around 2 hours in the shop testing the camera and the sales person even took out 40D and some nice lens for me to try.

I like it so much that i immediately when i reached home that day, i tried it to do some casual shooting inside the house. Took some pictures of the environment outside the house, pictures of cats that we take care of and etc. I really enjoy using it and the quality of the photo is really nice and definitely beaten those from P&S one hand down.

This is the case which is Jenova brand and its quite good and easy to put the kit and additional accessories.

So far been using it for few days and took some shots which i will post it in later posts.

Human are not perfect and we tend to do mistakes time by time. Im sure i did quite alot of mistakes in my life til now and there are some which i really regret it alot. And im sure that i did quite alot of mistakes which made my darling unhappy and angry with me, so i would really like to apologise to her for what i've done. It's always nice to know that you have done things wrong and compensate for the mistakes you've done especially towards those that are beside you. I'm sorry to all my frens, if i've done any mistakes which have caused some unwanted trouble and caused any unhappy moments, please do forgive me as i'm just another human learning the way of life.

Its been 4 days since my last update as this few nights were so busy. This evening, together with my family, we went to Sunway for dinner at a restaurant that serve buffet steamboat. Its quite famous here so i guess many of u noe which one. What i wanna touch is not bout the food that are being served but the attitude of those ppl eating there.

Besides those dishes that u can put inside ur steamboat pot, there are also some other dishes which u can eat straight away like fried rice, fried noodles, fruits, 'kuih' and so on. Then this restaurant is famous for their chicken wings. So its kinda like HOT item there. When we reached that time, the previous serve has been all taken up so we gotta wait til the waiter serve the chicken wings again to get a hand to try it. While we were waiting, we took those prawns, vege and blah blah lo..so then i saw few ppl waiting around the table there so i guessed they surely waiting for the chicken wing. Then few minutes later, once the chicken wings are served at the serving table, few more rushed there and so do i. Guess what happen.....

A guy took two big plates, then using one to collect, the other plate he use it to sweep the chicken wing into another plate....he took more than half of the chicken wings that are being served and guess how many i got???? just 2 pcs.. which consider a bonus..haha... Less than 1/2 a minute the dish is being served its been cleaned up.

Then about half an hour later, the waiter serve another round again, this time many rush there again and so did my parents as i was busy with other stuffs. This time they are lucky to get few back better than what i got... Then another 30 mins later this dish is served again and around 30 sec the chicken wings have been taken up..

From this we can see that human are really so selfish that they took so much without thinking whether other ppl need to eat it. Esp the guy that used 2 plates to take, i think its a shame to do so. Everytime the waiter serve it, its really funny to see those ppl rush there just to get one or two chicken wings and for about 30 sec, the whole dish is clean...

The Weekend Before Christmas

Today is the day before x'mas and its 15 minutes before 9am so i decided to take this 15minutes before i leave the house for work to update my blog. Yday which is the last Sunday before the Christmas, together with my mom and sis, we went to pyramid just because i have a RM10 voucher from parkson and needs to use it by 23rd Dec so we decided to use it a Parkson Pyramid.

Because of some housework, we left home quite late and i guess all shld noe that when the time is after 12noon, its really hard to get a car park in Pyramid, 1U and Mid Valley. We knew that but as we need to settle all the housework before going, we actually left the home around 12 plus and we yet to have our lunch. So when we reached there, its around 1.20PM (stated at the ticket). Then we were having trouble looking for a space so do those cars in front of us. After circling the whole area for about 10 minutes, we were so lucky that there is a car park, yeah!!

So u can see that it is flooded with people inside the shopping complex. I think most of them came to do last minute shopping before the christmas and also getting some other stuffs as there are sales now until 1st Jan 08. So basically, going shopping with my mom and sis is kinda boring stuff for me as they only look for their things which im not interested in. Therefore, after following awhile, we went seperated ways and i looked for the stuffs that i wanted to look at.

Before talking about some of stuffs that i had checked out yday, the first thing to talk about shld b the deco of the mall for x'mas. At the new wing, in the center court (i think that's what it is called), they actually deco it with those snow house where they selling lots of things inside. Many ppl went over and get stuffs there and also took pictures as it really nice but i think there are other shopping complexes that have better deco. Then there is a mini railway where children can take a ride on the mini train there. Around the area, all the pillars are decorated to provide the x'mas feel. As for old wing, there was an event organised by dunno who conjunction with x'mas so basically a small and simple deco which also related to the celebration. But then eventhough with those deco, i also hardly feel the x'mas celebration is just around the corner mayb due to the fact that the weather is too freaking hot yday.

Then as i moved on, i've checked out Al-ikhsan and saw a new Man Utd t-shirt which is quite nice so does the price and there isnt any discount for it and it cost RM85 as usual for those club t-shirt. To me RM85 getting a t-shirt isnt really worth it and it is made in malaysia which compared to those Nike manufactured in foreign country the quality is abit poor. Eventhough the artwork and design its really nice and i like it very much but due to the price, i decided not to take it and wait til the price goes down. Then the next thing i went to check out was camera as im looking to get a DSLR. Went to check out few camera shops around in Pyramid, the cheapest quotation i could get was from Fotokem but still im looking for several options so might survey some other shops and do some comparison.

What a Morning...

18th December 2007, Tuesday.. This is the day where epsilon engineering students need to register their course for next trimester. Since i need to come in office at 9am and the registration time starts at 9am so i asked my colleague to pick me earlier so we could reach the office earlier.

As promised, he reached my place quite early which is bout 10mins earlier than usual so i thought sure we will reach early. Then, just as we joined the KESAS highway, oh my, the traffic was so heavy that cars hardly moving. Guess what, those highway maintenance team didnt open the side word to divert those vehicles going to KL, Subang. Therefore, all the vehicles gotta stuck there for about 15 minutes. So my planned seems to be ruined. So immediately i inform my darling bout the situation and she can prepare herself to help me do my registration.

So as predicted, i reached office 5 minutes past 9am where the registration has started. So for those of you who do not know, we, MMU students like to rush to register our subjects with the timetable which suites our own time such as avoiding early morning classes, no friday classes and so on. That's y our registration is so jammed up.

Though im late, but my darling still having trouble login to the system and i tried it too. Even though able to open the login page sure enough it will not able to proceed more than that point. So then we keep on trying and surprisingly where i cant get myself login to the system, my darling helped me registered both of the subjects for next trimester..yahoo...thanks alot to my darling..then we also need to help a housemate to register and this time she also able to login and registered both the subjects..wow, melaka line better huh..

Lecturer's Visit

It's been few days back since i last update here, so since im abit free at the moment, i do a quick drop-by here to update. This late morning, the lecture in charge came over to make a visit for the Industrial Training Program. He is a lecturer from FOE in Cyberjaya. Since he is a foreign lecturer and doesnt really know where the company im attached is located, he called over and ask for directions then he stopped in Sri Hartamas rather than Desa Sri Hartamas as its quite confusing here.

Then my supervisor took me to the place where he stopped and guided him to our office. He made a half an hour visit here interviewing the person in-charge in this company regarding trainees' performance throughout the 8 weeks. Then after he is done interviewing him, its time that he interview the trainees. Im the first to go in so he asked about the things that i've been doing all these while then how is it going on. The interview is more like a feedback that he needs from us regarding the company whether is it suitable for students to be sent over for their internship.

So after he is done with all the questions, then he proceed with another trainee which i think also the same sets of questions. Basically its kinda rush visit as he just get those verbal answers and didnt check on the things that we did previously. After he is done with the interview, he left for another stop which is in Sri Hartamas, the place where i met him to guide him over here.

My CaPs CoLLeCTioN: BMW Sauber Robert Kubica Cap

The second cap that i would like to share in my collection is the BMW Sauber F1 Team cap. Or in more accurate, their driver Robert Kubica's cap. This cap is for the year 2007 which the design of the cap is abit different from previous year. I got this during the F1 Malaysian GP round in Sepang. I felt that the design is great as at the front u'll have the BMW Sauber F1 Team word and also the BMW logo. Then there is a red n white stripe which makes it looks more attractive. Then at the peak of the cap, its the signature of Kubica embroided on it. Then at the left and right sides are the sponsors' badge. Then at the back of the is the initial of Kubica and also another team sponsor's logo which is Credit Suisse.

I like this cap alot as its quite comfortable to wear and its not too deep nor shallow. Besides that, its quite proud having this cap as this year they did quite well in the championship and finished as the 3rd team or should say the 2nd team after Mclaren has been DQ. As for the price of this cap, erm..its quite expensive, at RM 140 but this is quite a standard price for F1 merchandise.

My ITP Progress

After done with designing webpage using JSP, yesterday was assigned new project which to develop webpage using PHP, another type of language for web development. So gotta hold my current projects which is to retrieve XML file and display it in JSP.

This PHP thing need to be done in a week using one of its framework called Symfony. So for today, i need to install and go through a tutorial on using Symfony for the development. At time of writing this blog, i am waiting for my XAMPP to be downloaded as the one in my comp is abit faulty here and there and the version is kinda old. So once i've downloaded it then i need to install and follow through all the steps given in a webpage designed for symfony installation.

So hopefully i can get it to work and settle it by end of the week. Im sure this time will be better than previous during the usage of Tomcat as my colleagues here were using PHP all this while so at least they are able to give guidance to me when i reach a dead end road.

My CaPs CoLLeCtiOn: Wilson 'Clash of Times' Cap

As in my previous post, i will start to show my cap collection one-by-one. So for the first one, i would go for my latest 'capture', the Wilson Cap i got during the tennis match last thursday. This cap is made specially for that event which is The Clash of Times, which is a tennis match between Roger Federer and Pete Sampras.

This cap comes in 2 colours, either blue or white. Since i have a few blue caps and none of white so i decided to get the white one. Many people who went for the match got this cap as it is the cheapest 'souvenir' u can get from there.

From the front, the word "Clash of Times" is embroided to the front panel while on the peak there is an embroidery of the brand Wilson and the word official ball where they are the official ball supplier to this match. Then at the side embrided with the name of Sampras vs Federer which makes it memorable. Inside of the cap is the Wilson logo together with some details for user. Unlike older type, this time the logo and details is iron on it rather than a tag sew on it. On the top of the cap there is some ventilation hole so that it won't be too hot when wearing it under the hot sun and u doing ur exercise or game.

This cap is made of material which is sun protective and also thin which is cooling. It has been treated with UV cutting agents from Ciba Specialty Chemicals to increase the cap's ability to minimise harmful UV radiation. So this is quite good for outdoor activities so our skin is being protected from UV radiation. Basically, this cap is quite nice to wear as its not too deep and just nice and the material is soft. Its suitable for those who have a thinner face shape as the peak is quite curve so for those have wider face shape, it looks that the cap is too small. So overall the cap is a good capture and its worth the money i think which cost RM 39. The design is simple yet beautiful and it is suitable for male and female.

After waited for months, yesterday was the day where Federer versus Sampras match was played in Stadium Malawati in Shah Alam. As it is in Thursday, i need to leave early from office as i afraid that it might be heavy traffic there. So i left office at 5.30pm and i reached there at 6.00pm and not many people was there. So outside the stadium there is some stalls promote their products such as Mercedes Benz, Wilson and so on. I passed by the Wilson booth and saw them selling some gears as souvenir for this match such as t-shirt, caps and so on. So due to budget constraint i can only get a cap and the picture of the cap i will post it later together with my cap collection.

So after getting the cap, nothing much there so decided to went in to the stadium. At that time, both Pete & Federer was practicing on the court and just few spectators went in. I took that time to take some pictures of them. So after they finished, when they leaving the court, many of their fans which is sitting at the corporate box approached them and get their autograph and also photo with them. How i wish i can get FedEx to sign on my cap.

So i returned to my seat which is located high above to take a rest. Then slowly, more and more spectators filled the stadium. By 7.30pm, it is about 80% full. Then at 8pm sharp, the night 'started'. The match is actually shown live to 60+ countries around the globe. Before start of the match, there were some dance, performance by 1st Malaysian Idol Jaclyn Victor and also drum performance. Then both players came on the court and they received a very warm reception from all their fans. We all stand for national anthem of Malaysia, US and Switzerland. Then the MC interviewed both of them before they start a 7 minutes practice session. Prior to start of the practice, they shot 10 balls to the spectators and too bad i cant get it. Then after that the match starts.

I was sitting exactly middle of the court which i can directly see the umpire. Sampras started the match first and throughout the match his serve was very consistent and powerful which giving Federer quite some problems to return the serve. The whole match barely any break points only once where Federer has a double break points but failed to convert it. So basically, who served won that point. There were some line call on Pete and there is once he argued with the lines man where he pointed to the line where the ball landed.

Basically the whole match was quite entertaining and in the end Federer won 7-6, 7-6. Federer was tricked quite several times by Pete and it seems that Pete is still quite competitive though he has been out from competitive game for 5 years. Then after the match, its the trophy presentation and our country ruler presented the trophy to Federer.

Then there is a lucky draw where 3 lucky person able to meet both of them for a autograph and photo session. Only those who purchase the program book entitled to be drawn. So after that, i just left that place for home.

Tmr or 22/11/2007 (thu) will be the showdown between "The King of Swing", Pete Sampras against the current world no.1, "FedEx", Roger Federer in Stadium Malawati in Shah Alam, Malaysia. Yesterday it was Rafael Nadal against Richard Gasquet and it was shown live on NTV7 and also Astro Super Sports. It was quite a nice game where Nadal played well and really commit alot to the game. In the end he won the match with 2-1. Let's come back to the Clash of Times. Before playing in Malaysia, both Sampras and Federer played in South Korea yesterday and it was FedEx who won the match in straight sets. So we hope that in Malaysia it will be a tighter match. Then after Malaysia, they will then have an exhibition match in Macau. So let's see the two famous tennis player of their generation.

Yip's Kitchen

Bcoz of hectic schedule during weekdays, after a week only i able to post this. Last weekend, together with my darling, we went to Sunway Pyramid to get some comics as she is the member of a comic shop there where she gets discount for purchasing from them. Then during lunch time we were undecided what to eat so we walked around to look for any restaurant which interest us. Then we saw this chinese restaurant named Yip's Kitchen and since we haven't try it out before we went in and try on the food.

Yip's Kitchen, the small wordings is actually "Noodle Specialist". Picture isn't clear as it is taken using my fone's cam.

This restaurant is a Non-Halal restaurant as they serve pork. Looking through the menu, its more like those Wan Tan noodle stall but its more high class. They stated that they are noodle specialist so after flipping throught the menu few times, i decided to order the Pork Rib Noodle (排骨云吞面) if im not mistaken of the name. Then my darling ordered Curry Chicken Rice. The price isn't cheap for these type of food served.

When it arrives, it seems good so we quickly tasted it. All i could say that its quite normal and nothing extraordinary. The noodle is just the same i could say but for the pork rib, i think its quite tasty but the meat is on the little side. As for the curry chicken, my darling said its just normal only. As i said the price isn't cheap and i cant remember exactly how much does it cost and all i could say is that it isnt really worth it unless u wanna have a try or else i would say there should be other better choice to dine-in.

The Past Few Weeks

Its alredi few weeks i've done my ITP and for the past few weeks its quite busy as i was asked to design a user interface using JSP and this week we are able to upload it into the server which is using Debian Linux.

As i do not have any strong knowledge in programming therefore it seems to be quite difficult to get hold of it and most of the things i need my supervisor help to settle it then some get it online and just copy paste it...but as i get to 'touch' it more then more i know about it but really just some basic stuff. Besides the JSP thing, the other thing would be getting it to run together with MySQL. It took me quite long to get it working but once it works, Viola!! then will b just programming only.

So after i've done the design and everything, its time to put it up to the server so that my colleagues can use it. It wasted me and my supervisor a week but still failed to get it work eventhough we did exactly the same settings as stated online until the senior software engineer in the company able to found out actually what happened. Because in their server they run apache and also tomcat together and there are quite alot of settings to be done but most importantly is to allow 'permission' to run the file which is actually located at the policy folder. This thing was not found when we do our research on setting up apache tomcat and luckily he found it and then everything works wonderfully.

So now, my first project is completed and waiting for the next task...for the mean time, gotta work on the 'long term' project which is to look for contacts for that company as they wanna expand their business internationally. So to my friends who wanna use bulk SMS system can just let me know and subscribe to our system.

Waffle..niCE!!!

As I started ITP, the thing that im looking forward to each time is to have a break. So today where its a public holiday, its so nice that i can have a day break though on friday work resumes. Due to the fact that it is a day break and we cant really travel far for vacation, my mom decided to visit the new Jusco in Sunway Pyramid as she needs to get something for her office. I've been there once so this is the 2nd time in less than a week and sadly i didnt take any nice photo of the new wing in Pyramid but all i can say is that they upgraded it and i believe the old wing they also upgrade it later. What i wanna share its the meal i had for lunch with my mom...

As we are undecided what to eat and we were not very hungry, we decided to have some waffles at the Waffle World which is located at the lower ground floor. I've never had anything at that restaurant before but my mom did so at least she knows what to order. So as i browse through the menu, there are not just waffles but also some main course which cost around 20 bucks and im sure im not getting those as i dun think i can finish it. So after few minutes we decided to order Hawaiian Chicken Ham Sandwich, Walnut Belgian Waffle and a cup of Hot Choc.

The Hawaiian Chicken Ham Sandwich is really nice as there are chicken ham, sliced tomato, cheese, lettuce and thousand island sauce and its sandwich with waffle rather than bread as we were in WAFFLE WORLD!!! Its quite full having that and i had a taste at the Walnut Waffle that my mom ordered and the waffle its quite crispy and with the ice-cream, it tastes good. As for the Hot Choc, its like normal but i believed that they did blended it and that makes some different. I think most of u have heard of this and im sure that many using it to watch your favourite show whether its live or normal broadcast show. I wrote about this as i think many still don't noe about it and dunno which to use. Personally i've been using all these programs for few years to watch my favourite football match and also some cartoons. Below are some of the programs that i used and i think you might also like it. For your information, ur connection must have at least 512kbps and above in order to stream it and get constant connection.

1. Sopcast (this is the one i use the most as it has quite a variety and easy to get connected).

this program is in english so easy for all and you can download it at their website.

2. PPMate

this program basically is in chinese but can be changed to english interface. Used to be very good but dunno y lately quite hard to get connected to peers. Software can be downloaded at their website. The list of show available are not just from PPMate but also others such as PPStream and PPLive. If you wanna watch tom and jerry and shinchan, this is the one u are looking for.

3. TVU Player
This is another online tv streaming program which have better interface. They do not have variety of show for you but the quality of the show is better. Is another alternative to the above. U can download it at their website or u can also view it there. Channel guide is also available there.

Besides the above there are quite numbers of them but they are not that good and less variety therefore it is not added here. If any of you found any nice program or website for streaming, pls leave a comment thanks!!! hope u all enjoy it!!

To all my friends, Yahoo! has released an upgrade to the current Y!M 8..its still in beta stage but u can try it out as there are improvements on the UI where u can apply different skins to your liking. Besides that, it will auto show ur custom status after u are being disconnected and connected back. You can also use Flickr to swap photos (and always keep all your friends in the picture). I believe if u have read my blog, u will know that i support Manchester United. Few days back, when i was shopping in Tesco, i found a VCD entitled The Official Bloopers! Video of Manchester United. It really caught my attention and since its quite cheap so i bought it at the price of RM8.90 only. Though it has the ORI sticker pasted on it, i doubt that MU get any money from the sales. Its like the pirated ori from local company coz if its from MU shop, u wont get it that cheap, anyway the real ori one im not sure whether we can get it here in m'sia.

Prior to writing this blog, i've just watched around a quarter of the whole video and i believe that this vcd has been released quite sometime coz the matches that they put in are quite a season back. There are some really funny mistakes done by those players from MU and also against MU. Even 'The Great Dane', Peter Schmeichel also did quite some goalie mistakes, haha.. Besides that, they also put in some hilarious own goals, tackles, miskicks and so on. Therefore, its really a video to watch for your personal entertainment.

SAW

By looking at this title, there might be all kinds of answers coming through ur mind.. U might think that it is a tool to cut things, what u SAW that day and so on. For movie lovers especially horror film lovers, this might be a nice and wonderful movie. The forth sequel to this movie has been released on 26th Oct 2007 and all this while, SAW series received wonderful review from movie goers.

The main plot of this film series revolves around the Jigsaw Killer, a dying vigilante who kidnaps victims and places them in deadly traps to test them and see if they are deserving of the life they have abused. The victims, almost always taken because they have taken their lives for granted (lying, conning, drug-dealing, etc.), are usually linked to each other in one way or another. The films tend to conclude with a twist-ending that wraps things up, but also creates more questions to be answered in the following film.

To those who love movies, this is a much watch movie as the story is really good and also how it develop. The writer really 'crazy' to think all those kinds of traps to test the victims. After watching the show, u wont take ur life for granted and i believe u will start to love yourself more. Though its a horror movie but the lesson that lies behind really is a good lesson and FYI, the SAW series is actually created by James Wan and Leigh Whannel where James Wan was born in Kuching, Malaysia but has been staying in Australia since he was a kid. He also directed Dead Silence and Death Sentence. So to my friends who yet to watch this show, find a chance and watch it and i believe u will love it.

Latest Update on Next Season's MotoGP line up

As this season's MotoGP comes to end where Stoner has alredi took his championship quite sometime ago and Ducati won the constructor's therefore, nothing much to follow but the last race would see whether Stoner can win his 11th race win of the season and make him on the records rank 2nd most win in a season tie with Rossi. The record is being hold by Mick Doohan as he won 12 races in a season which is really impressive.

Therefore, we now look forward to next year and of course the things that can be confirmed so soon is the line-up for next year and we could see some interesting line-up. Til this thursday, several teams have confirmed their line-up and below are the riders line-up with the no. inside the bracket indicates the no. of wins in 500cc/MotoGP. Of the existing field, only Team Roberts is still to announce its 2008 plans. Three riders will graduate from 250cc to MotoGP next year, and one from WSBK, while those either leaving the class or yet to confirm their future plans are: Alex Barros, Carlos Checa, Makoto Tamada, plus Kenny and Kurtis Roberts.

So Ducati Malboro seems to be strong as they have Stoner and Marco as their rider while we would like to see Yamaha improves and provide a bike for Rossi and Current 250cc world champion Lorenzo to fight for the title. Repsol could also be fighting for the title esp for Dani as this year he shows that he can be very quick if not due to the tyres and also the bike.

1st Week Ended

Today, Friday which means that i've finished a week of my industrial training and there will be another 11 weeks more to go...... Last weekend i still thought that i might have trouble adapting myself to the company but after few days there, things got along very well and i get to know my colleagues better and we always talk about topics which is not just related bout the things i needed to do but also some other topics like football, computer and etc which really makes me feel good.

After this first week has ended, to me it seems to be abit busy as the task assigned to me needs to be settled in a short period of time. At the mean time the thing that makes me headache would be learning how to write codes using JSP (JavaServer Pages). I need to develop a user interface using that and besides that, i need to make it to load some database from a server and vice versa. Its quite a task as i do not have very strong programming background and the worst part is that the very last time i did my programming would be few years back so its a bit tough but at least one thing, i get to learn new things. Til now i have 2 more weeks for me to settle it and i hope that it can be done asap and much before the date line.

After that, my long term task would be to get contacts for the company for their network expansion. We need to get total of 5000 contacts by end of the year and after first week, we found about 500 contacts which i think is quite ok the result but as we go on, the least number of contacts that we will be able to get so hopefully we able to reach the target and most importantly i can find the suitable contacts for them.

Tmr and day after which is sat and sun would be a short break for me to charge myself and prepare myself for next week's task. Besides recharging myself, it is also a time for me to spend some precious time with my gf as we hardly seen each other for the past week as i was off to office around 8 in the morning and reach home just in time for dinner.

I found that, when we are at work, we will need to readjust our life as during the weekdays, we do not have much time for most of the things and luckily i do not need to work on sat so i can have more time compared to my frens which they need to work 5 1/2 days. That's y those that has graduated always advise us to enjoy the time when we are still studying as that's the best time we can have and at the mean time i think im totally agree with that.

Had a meeting with supervisor today and went through the feedback that i sent in the previous day. After discussing the solution to the problems faced, we proceed to the discussion of next assignment which is to design a user interface (UI) for one of the system that we are using. The best part is that i need to learn new programming language which is JSP which stands for Java Server Pages. I was given a 2 weeks time line to learn and design it. It's kinda nice to learn new stuff and hope that i can get it work out and make one hell of a good UI here..haha..

First Day

Yesterday was the first day of my Industrial Training at Desa Sri Hartamas in a company named Micro Ocean Technologies Sdn Bhd. About a week ago, I did came over and look for the company so at least i know where is it located. So yesterday, as i would have expect, surely the traffic would be very heavy so decided to leave the house around 7am though my reporting time is 9am. So without any surprise, it took me about 2 hours to reach the office as i avoid passing tol and took those heavy traffic roads. So i reached around 8.45am which is almost 2hours after i left my place. With such time, i can reach Melaka already!!!! Besides the jam, the worst part would be my left leg where i need to step on the clutch and its so stressful and tiring.

When i arrived there, it seems that i'm the first to reach, yeah!! After waited for about 10 minutes, the workers arrived at the office and i went it but not sure of what i need to do so just sit at my desk which has been assigned to me with a computer for my usage. Later when the person-in-charge arrived, he briefed me and the other trainee about their company and then assigned us each to our own supervisor. Then after that i start with the task that has been assigned by the supervisor.

So you might have thought that what happened this morning is the worst thing to happen but you are wrong, the worst part would be return home after work. I left the office around 6.15pm where my working hours for each day is from 9am til 6pm. Then the worst thing starts to happen. The traffic was so heavy from the NKVE highway all the way until Kelana Jaya's Giant. Wow!!! If you know the road there, you can understand how far is that and how terrible could have been. It's so stressful to drive under such conditions and it made it even worst for me as i was so tired and headache due to less sleeping hours the night before. How lucky i was thinking for those of my friends who only need to travel a short distance from the place they staying to the office.

Guess what, it took me 2 hours to reach home and the whole day its like spending 4 hours just for travelling, oh my god!!!!! Luckily, from 2nd day onwards, i can just car pool with another college which stays just near to my place, so nice rite??? and the best part is that he takes the highway and i do not need to wake up so early anymore, yeah!!! Guess how long for me to reach the office this morning?? only 35 minutes!!

MotoGP - Sepang (20/10/07)

MotoGP has arrived at Malaysia and this time Sepang is the penultimate track for this season. Though the title has been taken by Casey Stoner 2 races before this race, many still turn up for this race. In order to attract more ppl to this race, the organiser organised an autograph session with all MotoGP rider on the 2nd day which is 20/10/07 (sat).

This morning, i went with few of my uncles and reached there around 10.30am and when we reached there, many people is already queing for the autograph session which only starts at 12 noon. The autograph session is seperated into 2, each 15 mins and different riders will be there at each session. The first session consisted of crowd favourite, Valentino Rossi, while the 2nd session we have Casey Stoner, the new world champion. I was unable to get myself into the 1st session but luckily able to get into the 2nd session with 2 of my uncles. Each session they only allow 100 people and you can't choose the rider that you want to take the autograph as they will assign you to the respective rider.

So i got an autograph by Carlos Checa on my pit pass and also a photo with him. My uncle was lucky as he got his pit pass signed by Stoner as well as Stoner's poster. I should have passed him my Australia cap to get the Stoner's signature. Then after that we went and look for some merchandise around that area which is very common during this type of event as each rider's supporters will surely get on hands with those merchandise as it is quite hard to get it elsewhere.

Then we waited til around 2pm for the MotoGP qualifying session to start. I was able to take some pictures of those riders and what i can say is that, i spent most of the Qualifying taking photos with both my Fujifilm F650 and Sony DSC-W1. Though we have a pit pass which allows us to visit the pit area but the scheduled time is around 4.15PM which is quite late and another long wait before that time so we decided that we gave that up and left.

If u have trouble with the security (secureROM) which embedded in the game, u can dl this and it works. i'll come back with some screen shots of my game, just started and found that alot has changed and still working on my team. Currently im using Man Utd and has yet to play a match. Thanks to those that made this a success!!

Dunno What To Write...???

What should i write?? ITP?? Found the company and also got the necessary details that i need, so not much to talk about it until start of training which is next week. Somemore what should i write?? How bout taking some rather old stuff and write?? no bad huh??

Last weekend, where we have quite a long break due to Hari Raya celebration in Malaysia, i decided to help my parents to wash the cars that we have. So, its time for me to try using the new car care set and see how good it is. The car care set is from Sonax which i got it as a prize from McLaren Mercedes F1 Team for participating in one of the contest organised by them. Its quite long ago that i won it, around the month of July.

They sent to me via DHL and the whole gift set is really nice and wonderful to have. There are 3 bottle of things in the set which are, Car Shampoo, Car Wax and a Rim Cleaner. So that day, i took them out and wanna try it on the cars. First of all, sure la wash the car but there is a problem, all the labels are in German and i do not understand anything at all so try guessing what i did?? I went to search for it in their website and found the english label which allowed me to know how to use it to obtain perfect results.

Then started with the shampoo and to wash the cars at home, i used about 2 hours in total just washing them. Then thought of wanna try the Rim Cleaner but the weather seems to be dark and the raining feel is swarming over the area so decided that just wash the car will do. Polishing the car seems to be even impossible due to the dark skies. After washing the car do seems more shinny and better looking so next time gonna try the wax and see.

Formula 1 Title Showdown

To all Formula 1 (F1) fans, im sure that the coming race in Brazil on 21st Oct 2007, is a race that will not be missed and at the moment 3 drivers have the chance to be the world champion. The current leader is this year's rookie, Lewis Hamilton, currently on aged 22 and if he wins the title, he will be the first person being a rookie to win it. At 2nd in the drivers' championship is Lewis team mate, Fernando Alonso, 2 times world champion and current only 4 points behind his rookie team mate. Another potential champion is the popular Kimi Raikkonen of Ferrari and his is another 3 points behind Alonso.

Below is the analysis on how each have the chance to be the world title:

How Alonso can become Champion
~ Should Alonso win the race, he would need for Hamilton to be on the bottom step of the podium or lower to take the title.
~ If Alonso is in second position after the 71 laps, Hamilton would have to be in sixth position or lower.
~ If Alonso takes third, he would need to Hamilton to only secure one point and for Raikkonen not to win.
~ If Alonso is fourth, Hamilton would have to not score any points, with Raikkonen also not on the top two steps of the podium.

How Hamilton can become Champion
~ Hamilton takes either of the top two steps on the Interlagos podium, no matter where Alonso and Raikkonen finish.
~ If Alonso wins the race, Hamilton has to take second place behind his Vodafone McLaren Mercedes team-mate.
~ If Alonso comes second, Hamilton would need to take the chequered flag in third or fourth position.
~ If Hamilton is in fifth position, he would need Alonso not to win (because even if Alonso is second, Hamilton will still be champion due to best number of fifth positions,) It does not matter where Raikkonen ends the race.
~ If Hamilton finishes sixth or seventh, he would need for Alonso to finish out of the top two and for Raikkonen not to win.
~ If Hamilton finishes in the final points paying position of eighth, the only way he can take the title is for Alonso to finish out of the top three and for Raikkonen to finish out of the top two.
~ Should Hamilton retire from the race or score no points, then he would need for Alonso to finish in fifth or below and for Raikkonen to be in third or below.

How Raikkonen can become Champion
~ Raikkonen would need to win the race, with Alonso and Hamilton finishing out of the top two and five respectively.
~ If Raikkonen takes second position, then he would need Hamilton to only take one point and for Alonso to be out of the top three.

So as we can see, Hamilton chances of getting the title is much higher compared to the other two but anything can happen just like the previous race in Shanghai, China where Hamilton slipped up in points and allow both Alonso and Kimi still in contention. For me my money is on Hamilton to win the driver's title though i prefer Kimi to win it but it is quite hard for him unless both the Mclarens have a terrible race. Swatch Titlis

Swatch Titlis, a swiss made watch by swatch which can only be purchased at Mount. Titlis in Switzerland. This watch cannot be found at any other place than at the peak of the mountain which is located 10000 feet above the ground. I got this watch as a souvenir from my uncle as he and my grandparents went to Europe for holidays few weeks back.
The outer box
The first picture is the outer box of the watch. It printed the Mount Titlis scenery and also the word 10000 feet there. This is to show that its located at such high altitude and though its quite plain but they did it well i thought.

The is how they packed the watch. As you can see normal swatch box and the watch inside. The watch strap design is almost the same as the outer box of the watch which is blue and white together with the words like mount titlis and 10000 feet.

As describe previously, the Mount. Titlis word and also the 10000 feet word is printed on it. This is really a special watch as its quite hard to get unless you get to that place. Besides that, together with the watch, there is a certificate to show that it is purchased there. This watch cost 90 swiss franc which is approx. RM 270 here.

My Man Utd Jersey Collection

This is what u hear when a player scored a wonderful goal..u might think that im gonna talk about football but nope, today i wanna "showoff" some of my jerseys which i have been collecting since the year Man Utd won the ever marvellous treble (EPL, FA Cup, CL) in the year 1999.

Man Utd home 1996/1998

My first jersey is the home jersey used in the season 1996 until 1998. This jersey is actually i won from a bet with my uncle where we bet whether MU will win treble anot and they didnt disappoint me and won the treble and i got my first jersey.

Man Utd home 1998/2000

The second jersey added to my collection is the 1998/2000 home jersey which is a gift from my uncle when he came back from overseas. This jersey is nice to wear as it is not that hot wearing it unlike the first jersey i had.

Man Utd home 2000/2001

The next jersey would be the the home jersey worn by the Man Utd players in 2000/2001. This 1 is bought during a sale from Studio R and got a 10% discount. Seldom wear it as i think its not that comfortable or mayb i found it a bit weird, dunno how to discribe it, haha.

Man Utd home 2002/2004

Next in line is the 2002/2004 Man Utd home jersey which is also the first Man Utd jersey under Nike compared to the previous which is Umbro. This 1 i got it from the Man Utd shop in KLCC just before they closed down and got it quite cheap at around RM80 if im not mistaken. Quite like it as its nice to wear and its NIKE though i think its over-rated.

Man Utd away 2002/2003

Up next is the away jersey of 2002/2003 Man Utd. First time, i have an away jersey coz i felt that this is quite nice and its WHITE which i like it alot. Got a 30% discount when purchased this and til now still like it alot.

Man Utd home 2004/2006

After so many jerseys and im getting more and more addicted to it though its quite pricey but supporting the team i like its worth it. The next in my MU jersey collection is the 2004/2006 home jersey. My fren helped me to bought it from UK and got it quite early compared to getting it from Malaysia.

Man Utd away 2006/2007

Then after that i went and get the so called limited edition 2006/2007 away kit and being a tribute to the success of the Busby Babes and their enduring influence. The material is very nice to wear though it is made in indonesia but its so cooling when its covering ur body.

The latest addition to my collection is the current away jersey which is black in colour. Its really nice and of course nice to wear but i still think that last season's is much better. Gonna put name and number for this and surely it will be RONALDO!!

Clash of the Times

Since its quite sometime since i last updated my blog, today i decided to continue back with "Clash of the Times". Most of you will surely wonder what is that? is is a war?? or is it some big match in sports?? think no further, its a exhibition match between Roger Federer, the current world no.1 in tennis versus the previous world no.1 and with the record of 14 grand slam titles, Pete Sampras.

Why is it called the Clash of the Times?? This is bcoz both are the greats during their time where Federer aka FedEx is the best player in his time and Pete is the greatest player in his time too and having such a match is really a wonderful thing that can't be missed by all tennis fan.

The match will be held in Malawati Stadium in Shah Alam on 22nd November 2007 which is about 1 month plus from the time I write this post and the tickets is claimed to be sold for about 95% and only those cheap one left for grab. The tickets are priced at RM 83, RM 253, RM 353, RM 388 and RM 443. Coz its quite pricey and I cant really afford the second cheapest so got to contain with RM 83 ticket.

The above is the ticket for the match which i scanned and put it here and it is printed on the spot when u purchase the ticket at the outlets such as Rock Corner where this ticket is purchased.

Besides this match, there is also another interesting match between the current world no. 2, Rafael Nadal against Richard Gasquet of France. The pricing is also similar so cant really attend both matches eventhough it would be great and a hard get opportunity for them to be playing in Malaysia.

August 3-5 2007, this is when i first enter a PC Fair as a worker rather than a visitor. For the past PC Fair, i was unable to work there due to hectic schedule but being in the final year of my studies, we have more time for ourselves especially for our FYP thus i can take some time out to work in the PC Fair. Another thing is that it happens to fall on the weekend before our mid-trimester break, what a coincidence.

Friday as usual, not many visitor as many needs to go to work therefore, things seems to be slow. During lunch time, traffic started to increase as many take this opportunity to check out the latest offerings for this fair. As expected, not much sales compared to weekend but for ours, we were glad that many came to purchase from us. Then things started to slow back til dinner time where those office workers started to storm the KL Convention Center. Many came with their colleagues and some came alone just to survey the price for weekend's rush. At 9pm, the closing time for the fair, we closed the booth and left the area for dinner. This is a brand new experience for me as for the first time i get to feel how busy it can be where we do not even have time for other things beside selling products to the customers.

For the second day, which is 1st day of the weekend, Saturday, as usual reached there around 10.15am and entered the hall to arrange new stock. Warning given by my buddy that today will be a freaking busy day so have to accept that there will be no time to relax and have a nice meal throughout the day. Sure enough, once the clock strikes 11am, all the visitor rushed in and from there on, there is no stopping for all of us. The whole day just keep talking and talking to push the products and get sales done. Just like y'day, when 9pm we just left there for dinner. I was so busy that day that i only had a bun the throughout the day.

The final day and this will be the worst day among the 3 as many Malaysians like to rush during last minute and they thought that things will be cheaper on the last day as all vendors tends to sell off their products and bring less products back to their shop. Therefore, the traffic was so heavy in the hall and we didn't even have time to breathe. Just like the day before, i only had a bun for my meal. At around 8pm, we all started to pack our products unlike others which still hard selling their product. When everything is done, its around 10+ when we left the hall back to the shop and then unload all the stock before going for dinner.

For me this is a great experience and i felt that it is not that hard after all and i believe that organising an event is even tougher than this esp. during the workshop prior to the actual date of event, as i felt more tired than working in PC Fair.

Movie Carnival 2007

Movie Carnival its back and this time its bigger and better as claimed by the organiser. I didn't noe bout it until i received an email from GSC that there are free gifts for redemption by printing a cutout and present it to the counter. Since I've yet to watch Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End so decided to make it today and also to claim the free gift at 1 Utama (new wing).

Reached there around 9.45am and when reached the oval area, many people has been queuing and immediately, without any delay me and my gf quickly jumped to the end of the queue and wait for the person in charge to arrive. We waited for around 15 minutes and people are coming in as well as the organisers. There will only be 30 gifts to be given out each day and today they are giving out t-shirt of the movie Man in White (鬼啊，鬼啊）. We were quite lucky still able to get the gift. Besides that queue, there was another queue where people trying to get the goodies for the movie Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer which was sponsored by Anglia Shandy. So many people queued and unfortunately, i do not have any cut out for that so unable to join the queue.

Because i've yet to book or purchase the tickets for later show, so we quickly went to the cinema counter and get our tickets before its too late. It is quite expensive since this movie is one of the blockbuster movie in this summer and it cost us each RM11. After done with the ticket, we went back to the Movie Carnival area and have a look and also took some pictures. It showcased some of the up coming movies such as The Simpsons, Transformer, Fantastic Four and many more big show. Besides that, the organiser also take this opportunity to promote local films and also films across this region.

Digital Audio Format for Handphone

Now a days when you have a phone which can works like a MP3 player, the thing that you want to have in it is songs and mostly people will put in the songs under MP3 file (eg: .mp3). I used to put that type of audio files into my 256MB card but only able to fit in around 30+ songs depends on the quality of the encoded song.
So, while I was having a break from my exam revision, I found something which i think useful for those who wants to fit in more audio files with less space. Introducing AAC HEv2 codec encoding or known as eAAC+. With this encoding, you convert your other audio file to something.m4a which now a days most handphones and portable audio devices support it. I found out that the size of a song from the initial 6MB(mp3 file encoded using MP3 LAME-one of the best quality) to around 2MB only!!
Many sure things that the quality will be very poor as the file size is so small but surprisingly the quality is almost as good as CD quality which hardly able to differentiated between the file before encoded. Maybe my earphones(HPM-70) is not the best in the market but seriously to those who wants to fit lots of songs into your audio device, this is quite a good choice.

28th April 2007 - It's a Saturday!!

As above, its a Saturday so isn't it good to be in a weekend? I think most of u do think so rite?? The night before slept late as I was completing the last lab report for this trimester, YAHOO!! and thank god, ck finished it and i was able to get some 'ideas' from his and completed mine. Academic stuffs just don't stop there after you finish you lab report coz there is an assignment waiting for me and my assignment partner ck to do!! this is a life of a student: beginning of that trimester, very free then midterm after that rushing for assignments then final exams then holiday. So now we are in the last part of the trimester, complete assignment, prepare for finals!

So this assignment was tougher than I thought even ck also can't 'master' it! So no choice but to do some findings on the title that we need to complete and found something which i hope its useful. Basically nothing much to do in a weekend except rest and rest and enjoy, YEAH!!

So almost the whole day 'wasted' on TVB drama series, computer games, surfing and of course EPL on Saturday where the team i supported playing in an early kick-off match. Luckily they were able to win that match even being 2 goals down which it really incredible and this is the spirit what Man Utd fans wanted to see in them.

In order to watch the match, so had an early dinner at 6PM at the new restaurant nearby called Restoran Apple Burger. It's quite expensive to eat there but somehow manage to fill the stomach which has been calling since an hour before.

The pic on the top is the restaurant while the pic on the bottom is a dish called Apple Chicken Salad which cost RM5, btw, its alredi half eaten when i took the pic. Sadly, i forgot to take a pic on the dish i ate which is the Wire Burger Ayam Special which is also 5 bucks!! Personally i think its abit expensive and this would be the last resort for me to have meal.

BMW Sauber F1 Demo Run

Temperature as high as 40 celcius but hundreds of viewers standing along the road behind those barriers. Sound of a V8 BMW engine roaring blasting through the air. This is what happened in MiTC at 2.30PM on 1st April 2007 (april fool’s day).

I was there with my girlfriend and other friends as well to witness the Formula 1 (F1) demo run on the streets by BMW Sauber F1 team which is organised by Petronas. Though I’ve been to F1 event few times but able to witness it about 1 meter from me is something so special. It’s different from being at the track which is quite a distance from me and definitely different from watching it at home on the screen.

We reached there around 1.15PM and many roads around the area was blocked for the demo run. It took us quite a while to get a place to park and it is quite far away too. Many cars were already there at the moment as I think this is the first time a F1 demo run was held in Melaka.

At first I thought that there will be just a short run by the reserve driver of BMW Sauber team, then when I was waiting for the event to start at 2PM, I saw BMW Sauber’s Drivers opposite of me. I was standing opposite of their ‘garage’ and from my place, I saw the media was interviewing the drivers, wow! By 1.45PM, many visitors has arrived to witness this event and the weather is so hot as the sun is sitting high up in the sky.

After waited for more than half an hour for the Chief Minister to arrive, it started with a introduction run where those drivers and riders were introduced to the public, then the Chief Minister flaged off as to start of the event.

1st is a demo run by Robert Kubica, the team’s second driver. It was an amazing experience where the sound is so loud and the speed of car is so fast that it is so hard to get it captured on a camera. He ran several laps then made a pitstop then continue and after total of 6 rounds he pitted back into the garage. All the visitors were entertained as they witnessed the a demo run of a F1 car, which is the pinnacle of motorsport. After the F1 run was the Petronas Sprinta Yamaha Racing Team demostarting the Yamaha R6 which is a superbike. After that it was the Petronas Sprinta Raceline Racing Team where they demonstrated the Yamaha Cubs which those ‘Mat Rempit’ used to race.

After those motorcycle, the day continued with a demo run by the Petronas Syntium Team with a BMW M3 car which was driven by the 2006 ATCC Championship Runner-up, Fariqe Hairuman. Then the Petronas Formula Xperience Racing School show what they are made of as they will be the next generation of F1 drivers. The next most impressive show was by Chris Pfeiffer, the Indoor Streetbike World Champion on a stunt bike. He showed his skills on balancing a bike and many more stunts that all visitors looked with awe. Then after that, the F1 team made another run with their first driver, Nick Heidfeld on the wheels.

Though all have to stay under the hot sun for hours but it is worth it and it was a once in a lifetime experience for those who can’t afford to attend the race in Sepang next week. Below are some pictures that I able to take during the few hours there.

Blog?? What is it about?? When the first time I heard of this, I was not sure about it and I think it is a waste of time doing such. Then in one of my current subject in my university, students must write a blog every 10 days as part of assessment for that subject. Oh!! Y??
At first, I really struggle with it but then as time moves on it gets easier and easier. I just need to write whatever I feel like telling people about and there I go... Now i'm actually trying to get use to writing blog and hopefully whenever i have the time to do so i'll just put up something which i think interesting which many people also interested in.

For now, i really feel like writing more and more but i have 2 papers just around the corner!! how am i going to survive?? Hopefully with few days left i can squeeze the notes into my brain and go straight into the exam hall without having trouble or what so ever.
